Obituary

Fort Kent---Claudette Geraldine (Daigle) Audibert, 88, passed away peacefully at Forest Hill Manor on Friday, June 24, 2023, with family by her side.  Claudette was born on May 10,1935 in Saint Agatha, Maine. She was the oldest daughter of the late Donat and Eva (Michaud) Daigle. She married Lawrence Gilman Audibert on August 4, 1955.  Claudette was an incredible mother and homemaker and with Larry, they raised 6 children. Her cooking was unparalleled, and she passed on her skills and recipes to her children. She babysat children in their home for years once her own kids were in school. She took her cooking expertise to work in the deli at Paradis IGA for 14 years before she retired. After that her and Larry wintered in Florida where they spent lots of time having fun with their special friends Don and Gerry Blackburn.  Claudette was a voracious reader, did the crossword puzzle every day and played weekly scrabble games with a friend.  She had the greenest thumb with amazing houseplants and beautiful flower gardens surrounding their home. She painted ceramics that her children and grandchildren will treasure for years to come and knitted sweaters for her whole family. She and Larry enjoyed joining their lifelong group of friends to go dancing at the KC Hall. Everyone was anxious to see what she had made in "la grosse bol jaune" when she arrived at Pépère Daigle's camp on Long Lake for family get-togethers.  Claudette is survived by her son, Jeff Audibert and daughters, Marlene and husband Craig Ouellette, Cyndi Audibert, Eileen (Babe) and her husband Monte Alexander, Jennifer and her husband Joseph Henry and Pamela Sirois and partner Darryel Corrow.  She was called Mémère, Grandma or Mimi by her 12 grandchildren Chad, Matt, Zack, Sarah, Kristen, Lisa, Steven, Maeghan, Colin, Lucas, Matthew, and Alex and 7 great grandchildren Zachary, Ryan, Abby, Sawyer, Madeline, Lucy and Asher.  She is also survived by sisters Roberta Guerrette and companion, Conrad Cyr, Susan Dubey, and Marcia Zai and husband, Dave, a brother, Michael Daigle and wife, Doreen, and a sister-in-law Rachel Daigle. She also left behind many dear nieces and nephews, especially her goddaughter Suzelle Jandreau, and some close neighbors and friends.  Claudette was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence Audibert, her brother Donald Daigle and brother-in-law Ronald "Bee" Guerrette.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the St. Louis Church. Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Sunday, August 13, and from 8:30am until 9:30am on Monday before the Mass.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, Northern Maine Medical Center, 194 East Main Street, Fort Kent ME.
