Madawaska--Claudette Duperre Guerrette, 82, passed away on March 28, 2021 at 4:28am, in Houston, Texas.
Although spending most of her life in Connecticut, Claudette was a resident of Madawaska, Maine since 2006. Claudette was born to Jean and Elida Duperre in Green River, New Brunswick. Claudette is survived by her son Michael, her Brother: Fernand Dupere; Sisters: Jeanne Lajoie, Therese Ahad, Adrienne Ouellette and Murielle Roy. Claudette married Donald Guerrette in 1960 and gave birth to her only son Michael in 1962. The family moved to Connecticut 1967 and remained there until they retired in 1998.
Claudette was well known for being the life of the party; she never knew a stranger. The motto "Joie de Vivre "would best describe her attitude/philosophy in life. She was generous, full of love, and was a pillar of strength for the entire family. Her strong work ethic and love of life gave her the unique ability to balance life's challenges. Claudette believed in tenacity, but she also valued the benefits of celebrating the little things and letting loose. She was always the first to both help organize social gatherings and console those who needed a helping hand as well as a word of encouragement. She was wise beyond her years and always willing to give constructive criticism, whether you wanted it or not 😊. Claudette's well used aphorism was "I'm not trying to tell you what to do but…" She was direct but loving and always had your best interest in mind. She loved her family and would do anything for her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and her friends. She was never one to quote scripture, but Jesus and Mary were near and dear to her heart: she said her rosary daily.
While our hearts mourn the loss of such a great Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, it is comforting to know that she left this world doing what she did best, truly living life to the fullest – it brings a smile to our faces knowing Heaven just got a little livelier!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 28, 2021, at 10am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Madawaska, Maine.
