Madawaska---Claudette Mavor, 94, passed away surrounded by her family on October 27, 2026, at a Caribou care facility. She was the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Clavette) Gendreau born on October 12, 1932. In 1953, she married her husband, George Mavor with whom she shared 73 wonderful years. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner. Being a wife, Mother and Grammie represent a lifetime of deep love, shared history and the joy of watching her family grow. Her smile and tender-hearted nature always left a lasting and comforting impression on her children and grandchildren, who fondly remember her kindness and welcoming nature and still today try to emulate that in their everyday life. Claudette, enjoyed active social pastimes in her later years. During the summer she could be found at the Edmundston Golf Club with her foursome forging lifelong friendships, loving a game that she became quite adept at. Contract Bridge was another passion that she adopted and excelled at becoming a Life Master. Table Bridge allowed her to play the game in a more relaxed social situation which she enjoyed as well. Claudette is survived by her husband George; children, Mary (Daniel), Peter (Stephanie) and Jane (Craig). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Caitlin, Lauren Eamonn, Peter, Alan, Amanda, Abby, Paige; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Jeanne Marquis, Sadie Couture, Edwina Sirois, Marie Mae Ouellette, Olivine Desjardins, and Bernice Daigle; seven brothers, Wilfred, Willard, Aurel, Hector, Ernest, Clifford and Roger Gendreau. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Caribou Healthcare Center for the exceptional care she received. Your dedication and compassion meant so very much to our family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Church from 9:00 until 9:45 before the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Caribou Healthcare Center, 10 Bernadette St., Caribou, ME 04736.
