Clayton
Jandreau

Edmundston / St. Francis----Clayton Claude Jandreau, 91, died April 19, 2022 in Edmunston, New Brunswick. He was born on May 4, 1930, the second of six children by Maxime and Yvonne (Michaud) Jandreau. He and his siblings grew up along the St. John River in St. Francis, ME.
"Ton", as Clayton was known, spent most of his life as a woodsman. At 13 years old, Clayton began hauling logs with a pair of horses. He continued hauling logs into his '60s behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer.
He married Yvanna Pinet, September 1, 1956, but lost her to a car crash in 1960 leaving him a single parent. He and his boys moved in with Clayton's parents, then, they moved to Fort Kent. On June 5, 1971, Clayton married Rita Albert and his family grew to include Rita's 7 children. He and Rita had nearly 44 years together until her death April 19, 2015.
After retiring in the early 1990's, Clayton built a log cabin on the family's homestead in St. Francis where he spent many idyllic days with family and friends. Spending time with family was what he cherished most. He and Rita ventured to Alaska, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Connecticut to visit members of their expanded family. Before retiring, he and Rita moved to St. Francois, NB, but his cabin in St. Francis, ME was a frequently visited respite. Clayton was also a proud 4 th degree Knights of Columbus.
Clayton is survived by his sister, Diane Michaud (Louis, Deceased); Monica (sister-in-law); Ervin Ouellette (brother-in-law); sons, Richard (Beth), Mark (Colleen); stepsons, Jean Eve (Mary, deceased), Jacques, Gerald (Bets); stepdaughters, Louise Albert, Jeanne (Bob) Cyr, and Jaqueline (Robert) Bonnenfant; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
