Obituary

Caswell --- Clayton "Clayt" St. Pierre, 73, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, at a Presque Isle hospital, following a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born June 26, 1941 in Caswell, a son of Laurie (Cote) St. Pierre and the late Roy J. St. Pierre. Clayton was the third generation owner and operator of the family potato farm in Caswell for many years. Even after his retirement, he continued working many of the neighboring farmers. He formerly worked at Loring Air Force Base during the winter plowing season. He is a founding member avid participant of the Pleasant Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club, Caswell and loved to go snowmobiling. He continued assisting with club duties until November 2013, due to ill health. He loved golfing especially with his wife, touring numerous rounds all over northern Maine, Canada and Florida. He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Rebecca (Lapierre) St. Pierre of Caswell; his mother of Limestone; two sons, Dan St. Pierre and his wife Rita of Homestead, FL and Shawn St. Pierre and his wife Teri of Caswell; four brothers, Frederick St. Pierre and his wife Jeanne of Caswell, Dennis St. Pierre and his wife Joy of Bucksport, Stephen St. Pierre and his wife Carolyn of Texas, and David St. Pierre and his wife Virginia of Florida; one sister, Theresa Conroy and her husband William "Don" of Arizona; three grandchildren, Dawson, Carter and McKenna; and many nieces and nephews Besides his father, Clayton is predeceased by a son, Kevin St. Pierre in 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:30PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Tuesday 1:30-2:45PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
