IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clifford A.
Deschaine
July 30, 1959 – May 30, 2019
Van Buren--- Clifford A. Deschaine, 59, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 30, 2019, following several years of failing health. He was born July 30, 1959 in Southington, CT, a son of the late Remie and Jacqueline (Michaud) Deschaine, and spent his early years in Winstead, CT, and Madawaska, ME.
Cliff enlisted with the US Army. Following his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Van Buren and worked various jobs for Rick LaPlante, Don Ouellet, and Chanel LaPlante, for many years. He was a confident Jack-of-all-Trades and was able to build anything from the ground up. He loved to tinker with old vehicles and was most notably known for his 1970 Ford Torino, he owned for over 41 years. He was a great conversationalist, and if it had anything to do with his beloved New England Patriots, he had the facts and stats. Cliff's passion, overall, was his two children who will miss him tremendously.
He is survived by: his two children, Heather Sifton and her husband Robert and Kyle Deschaine, all of Caribou; three sisters, Linda Deschaine and Nancy-Jackie Gervais, both of Madawaska, and Patricia Levesque of Sabattus; a brother, Joe "Leo" Deschaine of Lewiston; his ex-wife, Susan (Labreck) Deschaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Cliff was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Remie Jr. Deschaine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cliff's family to assist in offsetting funeral expenses.
