Madawaska--- Clifford J. Gagnon, 83, peacefully entered into rest September 29, 2024. He was born December 31, 1940, in Wallagrass, a son of the late Jeffrey and Agathe (Plourde) Gagnon.
Clifford was the former owner and operator of Aroostook Welding in Frenchville for many years, until his retirement in 1996. He was an avid supporter of his community. Clifford enjoyed fishing and hunting but loved to golf the most, especially at Long Lake Country Club. He enjoyed traveling to Tennessee during the winter to escape the snow and visit his daughter.
He is survived by four children, Allan Gagnon and his wife Julie of Connecticut, Gary Gagnon of Frenchville, Sherry Buhler and her husband Kevin of New Hampshire, and Laurean Cook-Clemmons and her husband Bernard of Tennessee; three sisters, Charlene Theriault of St. Agatha, Geraldine Ling of So. Carolina, and Arlene Rossignol of Van Buren; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Clifford was predeceased by two siblings, Gerald Gagnon and Lena Babin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 – 10th Avenue, Madawaska. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
