Madawaska—Clifford Gendreau, 90, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born on September 5, 1930, son to the late Joseph and Edith (Clavette) Gendreau. Clifford retired from Fraser Paper in 1990. He was a 4 th Degree Knights of Columbus and a faithful parishioner of St. David church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to ride snowmobile, hunt, fish, and spent many weekends at "Daigle Camp" in Escort, with friends. He enjoyed basket weaving, wood working, wine making, and ballroom dancing with his beloved wife. His baskets and wooden toys are now going to be treasured by his family. Clifford's family was his pride and joy, especially taking care of his wife in her final days. Clifford is survived by two children, Philip Gendreau and his wife Deb of Madawaska, and Dana Gendreau of St. David; two siblings, Claudette Mavor and her husband George, and Roger "Pit" Gendreau; five grandchildren, Dustin, Christina, Eric, Sara, and Joe. Clifford is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Edith (Clavette) Gendreau; his wife Louise (Hebert) Gendreau whom he was married to for about 60 years; five brothers, Wilfred, Willard, Aurel, Hector, and Ernest; six sisters, Jeanne, Sadie, Edwina, Marie Mae, Olivine, Bernice. Due to the current pandemic funeral services will be celebrated privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clifford's name to the St. David Church Building Fund, 309 St. Thomas Street, Suite 103, Madawaska, Maine 04756. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
