Pelletier
November 21, 1945 – March 26, 2024
Fort Kent--- Clifford Pelletier, 78, passed away March 26, 2024, at a Bangor hospital. He was born November 21, 1945, in Fort Kent, a son of the late Wilfred and Melina (Hebert) Pelletier.
Following his graduation, Clifford enlisted with the Maine National Guard for nine years and was a longtime member of the American Legion. He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor, operating Clifford & Sons Contracting, for his entire life, and served all of Aroostook County. Even after retirement, he continued to work and volunteer in many capacities in construction. He was a jack-of-all-trades and usually wore many hats among his friends and family, sometimes acting as a priest, lawyer, but most often the joker. Clifford was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish all over the St. John Valley and enjoyed sharing and embellishing his many stories from the woods and waters. He was a Fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by five children, Vicky (Bill) Gehring of Caribou, Tammie (Doug) Lerman of St. Agatha, Melissa Sirois and partner (Mike), Clifford "CJ" (Amy) Pelletier, and Matthew Pelletier, all of Fort Kent; 9 grandchildren, Alex, Sage, Bailey, Hayden, Hudsen, Elly, Andre, Abbie, and Ava; 4 great grandchildren, Aliyah, Emerson, Lily, and Eli; four siblings, Juliette (Milton) Pelletier, Mildred (Phil) Dubois, Wilfred "Bea" Pelletier, all of Fort Kent, Gloria (Roger) Caron of St. Agatha.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by five siblings, Albert, Richard, Ludger, Edgar Pelletier, and Germaine Soucy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday 6-8 PM and Friday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clifford's name may be made to the American Legion, Post #133, 411 W. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
