Madawaska---Colette Russell, 86, passed away on November 19, 2023, at a Fort Kent health care facility.  She was born in Blue River, Quebec on August 4, 1937, daughter of the late Ernest and Aline (Ouellette) Theriault.  A communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Colette was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.  She volunteered countless hours at the church, as well as taking care of the elderly at different health care facilities.  She received a national award for the amount of volunteer time she did.  Colette worked the night shift as a Registered Nurse for many years at the Edmundston Regional Hospital, also volunteering at the addiction clinic in Edmundston.  She is survived by her loving husband of sixty three years, Hudo Russell of Madawaska; two sons, Daniel Russell and his wife Candice of Saco, Ivan Russell and his wife Marlena of Saco; two grandchildren, Alyssa Mascolo and her husband John of Saco, Kelsey Banks and her husband Christopher of Florida; three great grandchildren, Haley, Joseph, and Eliana; two siblings, Raymond Theriault and his wife Monique of Beau Lac, Quebec, and Pauline Labonte and her husband Jean of Levis, Quebec; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by three siblings, Charlotte, Jacques, and Louise.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the St. David Church.  In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation.  Interment will be held later in the spring at the St. Thomas Cemetery.
