IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Conrad E.
Cyr
September 23, 1936 – September 2, 2025
St. David -- Conrad E. Cyr, 88, peacefully entered into Heaven on September 2, 2025. He was born September 23, 1936 in St. David, the eldest son of the late Levite and Regina (Saindon) Cyr, and was the loving husband of 64 years to the late Jeanne (Bosse) Cyr.
He is survived by four children, Karen and her husband Jacques Gagnon of Nashua, NH, Gary Cyr and his wife Michelle of Feasterville, PA, Lisa and her husband Michael Gallant of Culpeper, VA, and Kim and her husband Matthew Cyr of Saco; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Conrad was predeceased by five siblings, Gerald (Carmen) Cyr, Fernand (Rowena) Cyr, Robert (Bernadine) Cyr, Jeanne D'Arc (Wilmer) Lavertu, and Ralph Cyr.
Conrad always had a strong work ethic even at a young age working on his dad's farm then later on his Uncle Joe's farm. He then delivered bread for a few years before going to work at Fraser Paper in his early 20's where he held a number of union positions until he retired in his early 60's. Conrad was skilled at working with his hands always building or repairing something, whether on house updates, woodworking projects, restoring old cars, or building intricate greeting cards - a hobby he picked up later in life. He and Jeanne loved adventure, including going out dancing, snowmobiling, visiting relatives in Connecticut and often visiting their children in and out of country. Always a prankster, friends and neighbors knew to be on the lookout for the many practical jokes he loved to pull. Above all, Conrad loved God and his family. His faithfulness and his gentle fun-loving ways will not be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the St. David Church. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday evening, Sept 10, from 6-8pm at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 10th Ave., Madawaska. In lieu of flowers, donations in Conrad's name may be sent to: Ridgewood Estates Activity Fund, 480 Ridgeview Avenue, Madawaska, Maine 04756.
