Obituary

Van Buren--- Conrad Ouellette, 87, died peacefully Thursday, March 11, 2021, at a Caribou hospital, following a long illness. He was born July 14, 1933 in Van Buren, a son of the late David and Artheline (Cyr) Ouellette.

Conrad enlisted with the US Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable service, he returned to Van Buren to marry the love of his life, Rina Roussel, and shared over 63 years of loving marriage. He worked as a crane operator with former General Supply over 35 years, and later for Jim Martin Construction in Caribou. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, Post #49, Van Buren, and was an avid sports fan and looked forward to seeing his beloved Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by: one daughter, Jen Parent and her husband Norman of Van Buren; two sons, Jeffrey Ouellette of South Portland and John Ouellette and his wife Darlene of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Brian & Erin Parent, Claudia & Bodhi Ouellette, and Chelsea & Matthew Ouellette; two great grandchildren, Landon and Ellie Parent; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Conrad was predeceased by his wife Rina (Roussel) Ouellette in 2018, and infant daughter, Theresa Ouellette, seven sisters and four brothers.

Due to the pandemic, funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of Conrad's family. He will be entombed with his wife in Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
