Obituary

Fort Kent--- Conrad "Pit" Voisine, 97, peacefully passed away March 6, 2025. He was born February 24, 1928, in Fort Kent, a son of the late Donat and Regina (Dubois) Voisine.

Pit enlisted with the US Army during World War II and continued to serve honorably throughout the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Theresa Plourde, in 1952 and together raised a large family of seven children. Pit was a self-employed carpenter and never had an issue finding work all over the St. John Valley building many homes over the years. He was instrumental in building the Fort Kent Knights of Columbus Hall and the St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Though rarely a free moment, Pit enjoyed tending to his small farm, feeding his birds and working in his vegetable garden. He was a life member of the American Legion, the VFW, and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly, Fort Kent. He was also the initial coordinator of the Fort Kent Columbiettes in 1978.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Theresa (Plourde) Voisine of Fort Kent; three sons, Peter (Leta) Voisine, Gary (Penny) Voisine, and Greg (Kerry) Voisine; three daughters, Kim (Lloyd) Bonenfant, Sue Noyes, and Terrie Voisine; one sister, Cora Daigle; nine grandchildren, Paul (Sandra), Mike (Elsie), Melissa (Chad), Lyndsi (Pat), Karee (Tyler), Derek (Kristin), Carter (Kendra), Reece, and Kaitlin (Evan); 16 great grandchildren, Nathan, Connor, Ned, Abe, Shep, Keegan, Emma, Austin, Abigail, Everett, Julia, Jocelyn, James, Adalee, Logan, and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and stepfather, Leonard Theriault, Pit was predeceased by a son, Dale, in 2023, and a sister Stella Ouellette.

Pit's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to the nurses and staff at Crosswinds Residential Care. Pit always flaunted that the "the girls are nice, the food is good, and the view is great!"
