Van Buren--- Constance Bard, 86, died peacefully Sunday, November 22, 2015, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born December 3, 1928 in St. Andre, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Onezime and Agnes (Gaudreau) Michaud.
Constance worked as a cook and cafeteria worker with Van Buren Schools for over 22 years and worked as a housekeeper for disabled residents. She was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and a longstanding member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Van Buren Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending her free time playing cards and eating out with her friends and loved the company of her children and grandchildren. A quick visit with Constance would always fill your ears with her beloved French music.
She is survived by: three sons, Ivan Bard of Presque Isle, Gary Bard of Caribou, Mark Bard and his wife Sandra of Van Buren; two daughters, Sandra Pitre and her fiancé Rosaire Guerrette and Judy Gagnon and her husband Stan, all of Van Buren three brothers, Benoit Michaud and Roger Michaud, both of Grand Falls, NB, Canada, and Leonard Michaud of Montreal, QC, Canada; 10 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter Sara; 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, Constance is predeceased by her husband George E. Bard in 1989, three sisters and five brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday 6-8:00 PM and Saturday morning 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery.
