Obituary

Fort Kent--- Corey Daigle, 42, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, with his family by his side.

Corey was funny, witty, loving, and completely one-of-a-kind. His personality could fill a room, and his sense of humor could make people laugh even when they probably shouldn’t. He had a gift for making ordinary moments memorable, and there will never be another Corey.

His greatest joy and most important role in life was being a dad. Taydem and Brynnley were his world, and the love he had for them was immeasurable. They will carry his love, laughter, lessons, and memories with them throughout their lives. A piece of Corey will always live on through his children.

Corey found happiness in the things he loved most. He could often be found playing the drums, cheering on his beloved Boston Bruins, watching sports, hunting, fishing, or riding his boat around Eagle Lake. But some of his happiest moments were simply spent enjoying time with the people he cared about.

Corey was the beloved son of Greg and Lou Lou Daigle and a loving brother to Allison McVey and her husband, Shawn. He and Allison shared a special bond filled with plenty of banter, laughter, and love. He was a special uncle to Sawyer and Sutton McVey and will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends and loved ones whose lives he touched.

Corey was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, two uncles, a special cousin, and other beloved family members. His family finds comfort in imagining that those who went before him were there to welcome him home. At the same time, those he leaves behind would give anything for one more conversation, one more laugh, one more hug, or simply one more ordinary day with him.

The hardest part of losing someone like Corey is knowing how many times we will instinctively want to call him—to tell him a story, hear his opinion, listen to one of his jokes, or simply have him there. His absence will be felt in both the big moments and the little ones: when a favorite song comes on, when the Bruins are playing, when someone tells a story that Corey would have made even funnier, and every time his name is spoken.

Corey’s life may have been far too short, but the love he gave was not. His children, family, friends, and everyone who knew him will carry pieces of him forward. His laughter will live on in their memories, his stories will continue to be told, and his name will always be spoken with love.

Corey, you were loved more than you probably ever knew, and you will be missed more than words could ever express. Until we meet again, keep the drums playing, the boat full of gas, and the Bruins game on.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. There will be no visitation hours. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Corey’s name to: Michael’s Recovery, 267 West Main Street, Fort Kent, ME 04743.
