IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dale L.
Voisine
September 25, 1957 – December 31, 2023
Fort Kent--- Dale L. Voisine, 66, a special son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle passed away on December 31, 2023, after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. Dale was born on September 25, 1957, in Fort Kent, a son of Conrad "Pit" and Theresa (Plourde) Voisine, and was a graduate of Fort Kent Community High School, Class of 1975.
Dale took great joy in the small things of life, like going to camp, sitting by a campfire, spending time on Eagle Lake while teaching his nieces and nephews how to water ski, or riding his horse, Bridgette, along trails and pastures. Because of his love for horses, he went to Oklahoma to become a farrier, which allowed him to provide proper hoof care to horses in the Valley. He was also well known as a finished carpenter who was sought out by many. He took great pride in all of his work.
Dale was very active in the Knight of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight and Maine State Deputy from 2004-2006. He was a volunteer for the Special Olympics and a participant in the Polar Dips, which were two events which he held close to his heart and made many new friends along the way. He truly enjoyed helping others. When able, he loved to travel the world with friends, family, and youth ministry groups.
Dale is survived by his parents; three brothers, Peter (Leta) Voisine, Gary (Penny) Voisine, and Greg (Kerry) Voisine; three sisters, Kim (Lloyd) Bonenfant, Sue Noyes, and Terri Voisine. Though Dale had no children of his own, he is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come."
The Voisine family would like to thank family and friends who brought meals, helped with lawn mowing, snow removal or those who stopped by for a good conversation. It was and is truly appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church, E. Main Street, Fort Kent. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery.
