Tibbetts
May 5, 1946 – September 6, 2023
Garfield Plantation--- Dalton Wayne Tibbetts, 77, passed away peacefully September 6, 2023, at the Aroostook House of Comfort. He was born May 5, 1946 in Masardis, a son of the late Carlton and Elta (Libby) Tibbetts.
Following his high school graduation, Dalton enlisted with the US Army in 1965, and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a life member of the American Legion and VFW, and he always made huge efforts to support his many brothers in the armed forces whether local or abroad.
Dalton worked many years as a delivery driver for UPS. He had many passions in his life, and all was to embrace the beauty of nature. He loved taking to the many waters in his canoe and casting out his fishing line well after the sunset or combing the banks for fresh fiddleheads. Dalton also loved traveling and he and his wife drove thousands of miles to visit many states across the country. During the last several years, Dalton and his wife resided at St. Froid Campground, where he cherished his many campmates, bonfires, card games, and many memorable family gatherings.
He is fondly cherished and remembered by his wife of 39 years, Connie (Albert) Tibbetts, of Caribou; four children, whom he loved and always proud of their accomplishments, Carlton Tibbetts and his wife Jolene of Garfield Plt., Todd Tibbetts of Windham, Renee Good of Florida, and Ryan Tibbetts and his fiancée Becky Darling of Florida; a stepson, Ryan Morneault of Caribou; he adored being the Grampy to his four grandchildren, Benjamin & Lily Tibbetts of Standish and Rylee & Raiden Tibbetts of Florida; a brother, Leonard Tibbetts and his wife Peggy of Garfield Plt; a sister, Ida Jacques of Ashland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Lombard Rd., Caribou. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Homes, 118 High St., Van Buren.
