Van Buren--- Daniel "Patat" Cormier, 65, peacefully entered into rest Thursday evening, December 17, 2020, with his loving wife at his side. He was born October 7, 1955 in Van Buren, a son of the late Guillaume and Hattie (Vaillancourt) Cormier.

Dan last work as a maintenance worker for Laplante Apartments, Van Buren, for over 20 years, before his medical retirement. He was a hard worker and loved to help the residents take care of their homes. Previously, he worked several years for former Blier Mill. Even in his limited spare time, he loved to tinker around the house, repair his vehicles and fabricate little inventions or improvements. He especially enjoyed splitting and stacking his own firewood.

He is survived by: his wife of over 40 years, Yvette (Levesque) Cormier of Van Buren; two sons, Jeffrey Cormier and his wife Janick St. Amand of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, and Joey Cormier and longtime companion Heather Michaud of Van Buren; five siblings, Percy Cormier and his wife Tina, Nelson Cormier and his wife Annemarie, Theresa Levesque and her husband Gerald, Steve Cormier and his wife Brigitte, all of Van Buren, and Fred Cormier of Island Falls; six grandchildren, Veronica, Monica, Genevieve, Hailey, Connor and Mya; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Roger and Gene Cormier.

Funeral services private and at the convenience of the Dan's family. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
