Van Buren & Allagash--- Darrel Pelletier, 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Aroostook House of Comfort, with his family at his side. He was born August 15, 1947 in St. Francis, a son of the late Norman and Juliette (Jandreau) Pelletier.

Darrel loved the outdoors and his beloved Allagash; no matter where he lived, his heart belonged to "The Allagash." He took great pride working in the woods, operating his trucking business, and was especially proud of being a Maine Guide. Darrel's love for his children, and especially his "grandbabies," were his ultimate achievement and was the constant sparkle in his eye.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 43 years, Genevieve "Gene" of Van Buren; a son, Keith, of Bangor; a daughter, Kelly and her companion Eric of Caribou; adopted daughter, Stacy of Bristol, CT; family's son, Paul "PJ"; two brothers, Johnny and his wife Sandy, and Frankie; three sisters, Pam and her husband Harry, Vella and her husband Gib, and Shelly; six grandchildren, Abby, Alexis, Keith Wolf, Shawna, Dominic, and Logan; three great grandchildren Ryder, Kolton, and Dexton; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Darrel was predeceased by his son, Curtis.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 2 PM on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
