Ashland--- David P. Cyr, 48, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, peacefully in his sleep from natural causes. He was born October 24, 1966 in Bangor, the son of Donald and Lona (Bell) Cyr. Dave worked with Star Trucking and, with his good friend Joey Clark, Triple J Trucking, Garfield, for many years. He was also the owner and operator of former D&R Transport, Ashland, for several years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Maine Woods. He prided himself as a simple guy and lived his life one day at a time. He is survived by: his children, Ryan Cyr of Carmel and Erica Cyr of Ashland; his parents, Donald and Lona (Bell) Cyr of Fort Fairfield; a brother, Daniel Cyr and his wife Cathy of Presque Isle; nephews Lucas and Kyle Cyr; special friends, Kirk Voisine and Mark & Jen Howe; and many friends. David was predeceased by an infant brother, Michael. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at St. Mark Cemetery, Sheridan Rd., Ashland, with Father Antony Doss officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the committal at the VFW, Post #9699, Portage Rd., Ashland. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist in offsetting expenses during such a difficult time.
