Obituary

Madawaska---David Joseph Dionne, 70, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on February 27, 1956, son of the late George Emile and Therese (Corriveau) Dionne. David took great pride in his work and dedicated over 50 years to Ed Pelletier and Sons Construction, where he built a career doing what he loved, driving his excavator. He especially enjoyed working alongside his brothers, whether they were tackling a construction project or figuring out anything mechanical. He had a natural talent for fixing, building, and working with his hands, and there was always something to keep him busy. Above all, David loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He treasured the time they shared together and created many special memories with his family. He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his granddaughter, Taylor. David spent the last sixteen years teaching Austin everything he knew, including driving the Team Wayne excavator. He loved his dog, Bella and his cat, Star. He is survived by his two children, Karen Dionne-White and her husband Jacob of Madawaska, Scott Dionne of Frenchville; two grandchildren, Taylor Dionne of Scarborough, Austin Bourgoin of Madawaska; eight siblings, Don Dionne and his wife Diane, Nancy Gagnon and her husband Dave, Clifford “Flone” Dionne and his wife Elaine, Norma Ringuette and her husband Gil, Maryanne Violette and her husband Mark, Louise Dionne and her husband Garold, Robert Dionne and his wife Kelsey, Harvey Dionne; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by three siblings, Gerald, Lionel, and Camille. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Thursday before the Mass. The family requests that you please wear jeans and anything related to Ed Pelletier & Sons, Dionne Construction, Dionne Transport, CAT, or Harley Davidson.
