Obituary

Van Buren & Portland--- David L. Huffman, 55, passed away April 25, 2016, at a Portland hospital. He was born November 19, 1960, to Bernadette (Laverdiere) Cormier and William A. Huffman.  He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1978 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Computers from Andover College in 1993.

He worked at the Van Buren Police Department, Portland Museum of Art and, lastly, Fairchild National Semiconductor, until his illness.

David enjoyed visiting his hometown and southern Maine to hunt and fish. He truly enjoyed his trips to Van Buren to spend time with his mother and liked to relax home with his daughter and her pup, or hang out with his brother.

He is survived by: his mother of Van Buren; his father of Inverness, FL; his daughter, Domonique Berry-Huffman of Portland; his brother, William Huffman of Portland; one sister, Barbara Dubay of Nashua, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

David is predeceased by a brother Wayne Huffman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning, 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to: American Cancer Society-No. New England, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
