Madawaska--- David A. Martin, 63, passed peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2023, following a short battle with cancer, with his family at his side. He was born September 19, 1959, in Fort Kent, a son of Armand Martin and the late Yvette (Michaud) Martin.

Dave last worked with State of Maine as a surveyor all over Aroostook county about 10 years, until his medical retirement. Previously he was a handyman that worked with ACAP and assisted many area residents. Dave was an avid fisherman and loved to tour the many lakes and rivers in and around the St. John Valley, as well as hunting and ATVing, and always had his good friend, Dan Cyr, close by. His family was the center of his world, and his father cherished every Sunday visit as Dave stopped in to catch up.

He is survived by his father of Madawaska; one sister, Phyllis St. Amand and her husband Louie of No. Carolina; three brothers, Gene Martin and his wife Linda of Ohio, Phil Martin and his wife Gloria, and Roger Martin and his wife Rejeanne, all of Madawaska; several aunts and an uncle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom Dave held close to his heart.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 114 – 10 ^th Avenue, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning 9-10:45 at the funeral home. Spring interment will be in St. David Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's name may be made to a local food pantry of one's choosing.
