VAN BUREN--- Dean G. Simpson, 78, died peacefully on Oct. 15, 2013 at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born July 6, 1935 in Monroe, NC, a son of Margaret D. Simpson and step-father Thomas Hall. He worked many years with Murray Printing, Westford, MA, until his retirement in 1988 due to poor health. He and his wife relocated to Van Buren in 2001. Dean is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Joyce (Ayotte) Hall; 7 children, Dean Simpson of Raleigh, NC, Camilla Hill and her husband Shawn of Greenville, NH, Gordon Hastings of Van Buren, Evelyn Hastings of Derry, NH, Gloria Dustin and her husband David of Van Buren, Nicholas and Hanna Simpson, both of Van Buren; one sister, Carol Clapp of Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his close friends Richard Brown, Scott Michaud, Mark and Zack. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Parker. Family and friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 12noon until 2 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery, Van Buren.
