Obituary

Ashland--- Delores A. Porter, 84, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in Fort Fairfield on February 17, 1931, a daughter of the late Guy and Anna Louise (Higgins) White. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #109, Ashland, serving as Past President, former secretary and treasurer. She was also a past treasurer of the Ashland Logging Museum. Delores last worked with her husband on their Christmas Tree farm for many years. Previously she worked as a secretary with former Ashland Trust Company and Ashland Community High School. She and her husband also managed Big Machias Lake Camps for many years. She is survived by: her husband of almost 67 years, Ivan R. Porter of Ashland; one daughter, Pamela L. Porter of Monmouth; two siblings, William White and his wife Arlene of Connecticut and Constance Hardcastle of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Corey and Erin Dyke; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Delores is predeceased by her brothers Guy and Roger White. At Delores' request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
