Van Buren--- Donald J. King Sr., 79, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at his home after several years of poor health. He was born June 10, 1937 in Millinocket, a son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Deschene) King.
He was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Assembly, Council #1635, Van Buren.
He is survived by: his son, Donald A. King Jr. and his wife Charlene of St. Leonard, NB, Canada; seven siblings, Levine Guillette, Geneva Ouellette, Bernadette King, Wilfrid, Clarence, Gilman & Edgar Boucher; three grandchildren, Erika, Sheena & Vanessa; three great grandchildren, Jérémy, Lexie & Daphnie; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Don is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Georgette (Bouchard) King in 2013, sister Gloria Blanchette and three brothers Gerald, Omer & Edward King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
