IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald
Michaud
February 6, 1958 – May 13, 2024
Donald Joseph Michaud, 66, passed away Monday evening, May 13, 2024, at his Fort Kent home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, following a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born on February 6, 1958, in St. Agatha, son of Raoul Michaud & Aurore (Pelletier) Michaud.
He was a graduate of the class of 1976 from Wisdom High School in St. Agatha and later earned a certificate in Plumbing & Heating from Washington County Technical College. Don was a well-respected plumber, who provided quality service to the greater Fort Kent community with his business, Michaud Plumbing & Heating. He was actively involved with his sons in Boy Scouts, and spent many summers canoeing on the river, camping and hiking. Don was a man of adventure and recreation, spending his free time snowmobiling and four wheeling on trails. He also loved his camp he shared with Susan and their children, grandchildren and friends at the lake, driving his boat, grilling, laughing, telling stories by the fire, and napping with his pups.
Don never hesitated to help people in need and was known for his generous nature and warm heart. To know him was to love him, and he loved deeply in return. His sense of humor and free spirit were adored by all, and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his beloved parents, Don is predeceased by his sister, Bernadette Dumond of Florida; brother, Clarence Michaud of Connecticut; and brother, Joe Michaud of Connecticut.
Don is survived by his wife, Susan (Corriveau) Michaud of Fort Kent; two sons, Todd Michaud and his wife Jennifer Brayall-Michaud of Gorham; Sonny Michaud of Austin, TX; step-daughter Angela Jandreau and her husband Wesley Jandreau, and daughters Lyndsi & Piper of New Gloucester; step-son Craig Pelletier and his wife Jessica Pelletier, and their children, McKayla, Brady, Amyah, Lynden & Ellinna Mae from Eagle Lake; step-daughter Crystal Corriveau of Fort Kent; adored granddaughter Bethany Pierce; loving children Jaymes Weaver & Amarii Weaver; and several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends are invited to greet the family at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. before the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
