Madawaska---Donald R. Parent, 82, passed away on May 6, 2025, at a Madawaska health care facility.  He was born in Madawaska on June 24, 1942, son of the late Joseph and Claudia (Ringuette) Parent.  He worked at Fraser Paper for many years until his retirement.  He joined the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed traveling and riding his ATV, playing Petenque, and more recently, singing at the "Mur" with the Country boys orchestra.  He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Morin and her husband Raymond of St. David; three grand-daughters, Sara Rogers (Angus), Jessica Morin and her significant other, Travis Guerrette, and Donna Morin; great grandchildren, Maxum Rogers and Gabrielle Guerrette; his brother, Gerald Parent (Jeannette) of Madawaska; he always enjoyed the company of his companion, Solange Laundry of Degelis, PQ.  He was predeceased by his wife, Edwina (Levesque) Parent of 47 years; an infant son; his siblings, Annette (Parent) Boutot, Roland Parent, Joan (Parent) Doucette, Merita Parent, and Maurice Parent.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  There will be no visiting hours.  Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at the Parish cemetery.
