Madawaska---Donat J. Picard, 81, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2016 at Ridgewood Estates, his home of thirty five years.  He was born in St. David on March 26, 1934, son of the late Alcime and Rose (Michaud) Picard.  He is survived by his brother, Armand Picard of Madawaska; nine nieces and nephews, Jinny, Nicole, Roland, Lorraine, Real, Lionel, Zenon, Steve, Cheryl; sister-in-law, Theresa Picard of Madawaska; special friends, Roger and Claudette of Florida and Maxine of St. Agatha.  The family wishes to thank Jackie Roy, her staff, and the many generous people of the area that contributed in helping Donat with anything he needed on the daily basis.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Theoline Caron and Cecile Marquis and one brother, Lionel Picard.  A Memorial Service will be held at Ridgewood Estates, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, at 1:30pm on Friday, January 29, 2016.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
