Grand Isle/Augusta---Donna Dionne Hubbard, 54, passed away after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer, on May 25, 2012 at an Augusta health care facility. She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on July 25, 1957, the daughter of Lionel "Pit" and Lucille (Cyr) Dionne. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1975. After high school, she graduated from University of Maine in Augusta in 1978 with a degree in Bilingual Bicultural program in human services as well as an associate degree in general science. She was employed as a secretary at Suburban Gas and at Econo Lodge as a receptionist for several years. Donna is survived by her loving parents, Lionel and Lucille Dionne of Grand Isle; three sisters, Louise Dionne of Otter Creek; Denise Emple and her husband Robert of Falmouth; Michelle Ouellette and her husband Chad of Saco; two brothers, Ronald Dionne and his wife Jennifer of Grand Isle, James Dionne of Grand Isle; her nieces and nephews, Emma and Alec Dionne, Andrew, Sophie, and Charlie Emple, Curtis Dionne, and Brycen Ouellette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until 10:30am on Friday.
