Frenchville---Edgar R. Picard, 80, passed away on August 1, 2014 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born in Frenchville on June 4, 1934, son of the late Hypolite and Elise (Pelletier) Picard. After graduating from Madawaska High School, Edgar joined the United States Army. After his return from the Army he worked at Fraser Paper until his retirement. After his retirement, Edgar and his wife Violette enjoyed traveling across the country. Edgar loved spending time at the family camp in the Allagash as well as the camp at the Lake where they would spend their summers. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty four years, Violette (Byram) Picard of Frenchville; two sons, Gerry Picard and his wife Susan of New Hampshire, Robert Picard of St. Agatha; three grandchildren, Felicia, Andrea, and Alissa; one great grandson, Jameson Edgar; five sisters, Prescille Dumais, Leonie McGovern, Muriel Picard, Rinette Gervais, Laurette Park; one brother, Joseph Picard. He was predeceased by four sisters, Claire Dubois, Ursula Ellsworth, Irma Albert, and Claudette Rerreault; four brothers, Jean Luc Picard, Euclide Picard, Tony Picard, and Philip Picard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until time of service on Thursday.
