IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith (Caron)
Ouellette
April 27, 1933 – November 5, 2024
Fort Kent –Our Mother, Edith M. Ouellette, passed away on Nov. 5, 2024. She was born on April 27, 1933 in St. John, Maine, the daughter of Alfred and Edna Caron.
Edith lived most of her life in northern Maine where she met Lewellyn Ouellette and later married on Nov. 9, 1950. Edith was fondly nicknamed "Ti-titte" (French for tiny). Together, she and Lew raised four children and were later blessed with nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Edith was predeceased by Lew in 2009 after 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Edith will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith, a great quilt maker and the joy she brought to her family as a home maker. Throughout her adult life, she will also be remembered for her civic involvement with the Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies of St. Anne. Edith gifted many of her quilts to her children and grandchildren. Many of us also received knitted stockings at Christmas along with her famous chocolate peanut butter balls. She will also be missed by all her friends at Mountain View Apartments in Ft. Kent where they said the Rosary every evening and then played cards afterwards.
Edith is survived by her daughters Carlene (Mike) Dumond, Carla (Gary) Thibodeau and sons Darrell (Lisa) Ouellette and Jamey (Cheryl) Ouellette. Besides her parents, Edith was also predeceased by all ten of her siblings, Alfred Caron, Arnold Caron, Alphonse Caron, Cecile Pelletier, Maurice Caron, Valdore Caron, Valderic Caron, Verna Carrier, Violette St. Jarre and Leonard Caron.
