St. David---Elden Michaud, 71, passed away August 18, 2011 at a Florida health care facility. He was born in Madawaska on September 25, 1939, the son of the late Emile and Cecile Michaud. He graduated from St. Francis High School in Biddeford. He also attended Recker College in Houlton. He worked for Fraser Papers in Madawaska for forty one years until his retirement in 2001. Elden is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Claudette (Bouchard) Michaud of St. David; two sons, Mitchell Michaud and his wife Jane of Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, and Scott Michaud and his wife Mishelle of Riverview, Florida; three grandchildren, Valerie Michaud of Riverview, Florida, William Fox and Madeliene Michaud of Kenai Peninsula, Alaska; one step grand-daughter,Loren McCollom of Riverview, Florida; two brothers, Lester Michaud and his wife Carmen of St. Jacques, N.B., and Jolyn Michaud and his wife Francine of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jolene Bourgoin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, August 29 at the St. David Church. Condolences may be given to the family at the church from 9am until time of service on Monday. Interment will follow immediately after the service in the parish cemetery.
