Madawaska---Eldon P. Gendreau, 79, passed away on September 29, 2019 at a Fort Kent health care facility.  He was born in St. David on August 28, 1940, son of the late Paul and Gertie Gendreau.  Eldon worked all his life as a custodian at the Madawaska High School.  After retirement, he really enjoyed working at the thrift shop, always giving a helping hand to those in need.  He is survived by one son, Gary Gendreau and his wife Heather of New York; his granddaughter, Katie Gendreau also of New York; one sister, Rolande McWhinnie and her husband Rodney; one brother, Carl Gendreau and his wife Norma all of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by eight siblings.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the St. David Church.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Friday before the service.  Interment will be held at the Parish cemetery immediately after the service.
