Portage Lake --- Eldon (Mike) Nason passed away unexpectedly February 23, 2021, one day before his 64th birthday.  Born February 24, 1957 in Marlborough, MA, he was one of three sons born to the late Malcolm and Shirley (Sutherland) Nason.

Mike met his wife in Houston, Texas where they lived together until they moved to his hometown of Portage Lake, Maine with their daughter, in 2006.  He worked in the Woodlands business almost 15 years where he built many lasting friendships.  He loved nature and cherished the beautiful woods and waters around Portage Lake.  An avid animal lover, he genuinely appreciated the companionship of his many pets & simply enjoyed feeding the numerous wild animals right outside his window, each day.

He is survived by: his loving wife of almost 25 years, Janet (Edge) Nason; daughters, Justine Nason and Angela (Nason) Berlin; step daughter, Rachel Gilbert; brothers, Malcolm and Alan Nason; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.

Services were held privately and at the convenience of Mike's family. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland.
