Obituary

Fort Kent --- Elmer Daigle, 85, passed away on August 29, 2018 at a Fort Kent health care facility, surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 22, 1932 a son of the late Irenee and Leona (Martin) Daigle. Elmer operated his own potato farm for over 40 years, as well as proudly owning Daigle's Bed and Breakfast. He was an avid member of many local organizations, especially the Knights of Columbus 4th degree council in Fort Kent. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Caron) Daigle, of 64 years. Three children, Karen Deprey and her husband David of Fort Kent, Sandra Daigle of Fort Kent, and Craig Daigle and his companion Trisha of Presque Isle; nine grandchildren, DJ and Renee Deprey, Tucker Daigle, Joseph, Christopher, Jonathan, and Joshua Anderson, and Colin and Andre Daigle; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Kent; one brother, Rudy Daigle; two very special people, Anita Daigle and Melanie Englemann; as well  many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one son, John Daigle; and three siblings, Martin Daigle, Yolande Fogg, and Roderick Daigle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 4pm on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends may call from 1:30 – 3:45pm at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral home, before the service. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery immediately following the service.
