Fort Kent --- Esther (Michaud) Levesque, 92, a lifelong resident of the St John Valley, died Thursday January 2, 2020 at the Ridgewood Assisted Living Facility in Madawaska. Born August 25, 1927 in Fort Kent, Maine, Esther graduated from the Madawaska Training School (UMFK) with a degree in Education.  She taught for a short time before starting a family.  After her 3 children were school aged, she returned to work, first for the Fort Kent Adult Education Program and then for the Aroostook County Action Program from which she retired after over 30 years of service. Esther loved her family, music, line dancing, shopping, coffee with her friends and being fashionable – especially wearing purple bejeweled things. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Jeanne and Richard Thomas of Shreveport LA, Mona and Norman Baker of Cumberland ME, Albert and Amy (Dow) Levesque of Fort Kent ME, and the pride and joy of her life, her two grandsons, Drew Levesque and his partner Katelyn Roy, and Alex Levesque and his partner Libby Lapointe.  She is also survived by her sister Rita Bouchard and husband Alban, her brother Roland Michaud and wife Evelyn along with several nieces/nephews and grandnieces/grandnephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Antonio Levesque and her parents Albert and Odile Michaud. A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Esther's life will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in memory of Esther can be made to The Ridgewood Activities Department, Ridgewood Estates, 480 Ridgeview Ave, Madawaska Maine 04756 or the Fort Kent Nutrition and Food Assistance/Meals on Wheels Program operated by the Aroostook Agency on Aging, PO Box 1288, Presque Isle ME 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent.
