Madawaska—Eugene 'Gene' Clavette, 60, passed away on August 27, 2021 at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born on October 18, 1960, son of the late Alcide and Agatha (Lizotte) Clavette. Gene was very passionate about his beliefs and could read people like a book. But his specialty was being able to see right through someone's nonsense. Gene last worked at Twin River Paper Company on a paper machine, and previously worked for Morin Windows and Cabinets. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cleaning vehicles, but most of all spending time with his family. Gene is survived by his loving wife of nearly 10 years, Elaine Clavette; two sons, Jesse and Dylan Clavette of Madawaska; two step-sons, Travis Pelletier and his wife Danika of Van Buren, Joshua Pelletier and family of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Sophie, Brielle, Addilyn, and Andrew; two sisters, Carlene Brousseau and her husband Jerry of Connecticut, Linda Theriault and her husband Marcel of Van Buren; his in-laws, Charles and Lee Russell of New York, David and Denise Russell of Madawaska, Robert and Michelle Russell of Madawaska, Ann Russell of Caribou, Phil and Linda Russell of Madawaska; father in-law, Real Russell; along with many nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by his parents Alcide and Agatha (Lizotte) Clavette; one brother, Leo Clavette; one sister, Priscilla Gendreau; mother in-law, Irma Russell. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9, 2021, 10am, at St. David church. Family and friends may offer their condolences to the family on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
