Obituary

Madawaska---Eugene Gendreau, 65, passed away on April 21, 2013 at a Caribou health care facility. He was born in St. David on May 30, 1947, son of the late Paul and Gertie (Gendreau) Gendreau. Gene was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Thomas O. Cyr, Post #147 of Madawaska and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 2638 also of Madawaska. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, the Boston Red Sox, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his extended family. He is survived, one daughter, Christina Beaulieu and husband Freddie of Rockland, MA; one son, Eric Gendreau of Portland; three grandchildren, Chacity Gendreau, Damien Gendreau, and Elise Beaulieu; two sisters, Rachel Bechard and Rolande McWhinnie and her husband Rodney both of Madawaska; four brothers, Lucien Gendreau of Bristol, CT, Yvon Gendreau and his wife Simone of Southington, CT, Eldon Gendreau and Carl Gendreau and his wife Norma both of Madawaska; his special friend Vicky Kohr of Grand Isle; a brother-in-law, Claude Belanger of Ottawa; several nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by his beloved wife, Monique (Belanger) Gendreau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Wednesday, April 24 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Tuesday and from 8:30am until 9:30am on Wednesday. Interment will be held 1pm on Friday, April 26 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
