Grand Isle---Eva (Martin) Lavoie, it is with heavy hearts that we let our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins of Eva Marie (Martin) Lavoie, 90 years young, pass into the open arms of our Savior Jesus Christ on February 2, 2023.  Eva was born in Green River, New Brunswick on July 18, 1932, 12 ^th child of Ernest and Agnes Martin.  She was born into a very musical family and was a very talented musician.  She played the piano, accordion, organ and sang.  As a young woman, along with her family members, they hosted the "Country Review Show" on the radio station CJEM in Edmundston, New Brunswick.  She also played music and sang in the local music halls.  Eva was a member of the Grand Isle Dames de St. Anne for over seventy years.  Left to cherish her memories are her children; Herman (Lucienne) Lavoie, Bernice (Jim) Wray, Merita (Dan) Bosse and Ida Lavoie and her companion Brian Gendreau.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren; James V. Wray III, Melissa Lavoie, Jamie Lavoie (fiancé Joey Pelletier) and Jesse D. (Leah) Pelletier.  Great grandchildren; Evan Lagasse, Jaden E. Wray and Liam Lagasse. Sister, Lillian Daigle and brother, Michael (June) Martin, sister-in-law Jacqueline (Leo) Martin.  Two step grandchildren, Mathieu Bosse (fiancé Chelsea) and Stephanie (Jamal) James.  A step great grandchild, Kade Bosse and one due in July 2023.  Eva was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Agnes and 16 siblings and spouse; Alyre (Edith), Lionel (Jeanine), Alphe (Emelda), Dorice, Emile (Cecile), Patrick, Cecile, Treffle, Ida (Adelard) Soucy, Simone, Joseph, Edna, Cecilia, Leo, Ernestine, Marie and brother-in-law O'Neil Daigle.  Eva was also predeceased by her first granddaughter Michelle Marie Wray and her first grandson Mark H. Lavoie.  She was also predeceased by the father of her children, Mack Lavoie.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle.
