Van Buren--- Eva M. Ouellette, 80, peacefully entered into her Fifth Day Friday, October 25, 2019, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born July 2, 1939 in Connor Plt/No. Caribou., a daughter of the late Elie and Elodie (Parent) Gagnon.
Eva worked as a nurses' aide at Borderview Manor and former Van Buren Community Hospital. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, where she was a visiting Eucharistic Minister for homebound parishioners. She was a member of the Columbiettes and she proudly attended her Cursillo in 1988. Eva enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and reading, especially stories of the Amish lifestyle. Known as the "Garage Sale Lady," she avidly set up a yearly garage sale in front of her home for over 30 years.
he is survived by: five children, Betty Levesque and her husband Gary of Van Buren, Diane Stikeleather and her husband Don of Black Mt., NC, Linda Ouellette and her partner Heather Coulterman of Kanata, ON, Canada, Armand "Boy" Ouellette Jr. and Wayne Ouellette, both of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Amber Atwood, Joshua & Zachary Levesque, Rebekah Michaud, Macy Caron, and Monique Ouellette; six great grandchildren; a special godchild, Vanda Madore; a daughter-in-law, Deana Ouellette; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Armand Ouellette Sr. in 2011, an infant son, Brian in 1964, her siblings, Beatrice St. Pierre, Mamie St. Pierre, Winnie Gardiner, Florence Dube, Clarence Gagnon, and Nelson Gagnon, and half-siblings, Joseph Ayotte and Rose Devoe Ouellette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday evening 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
