Madawaska---Fernand J. Bosse, 83, passed away on December 27, 2013 at a Madawaska health care facility, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family after battling cancer. He was born in Stockholm, ME on May 10, 1930, son of the late Donat and Winnie (Lizotte) Bosse. Fern worked as a machine tender at Fraser Papers for forty two years. He was a volunteer fire fighter for forty years of the Madawaska Fire Department, and was Captain for many of those years. He was also a Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Council #0366 in Madawaska. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dora (Pelletier) Bosse of Madawaska; three sons, Norman Bosse and his wife Moira of Saint John, New Brunswick, Donald Bosse and his wife Heather of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Bruce Bosse and his wife Kellie of Madawaska; three daughters, Muriel Mosher and her partner David Bragdon of Augusta, Bernadette Pelletier and her husband Dave of Madawaska, and Diane Guerrette and her husband James of Frenchville; six brothers, Roger Bosse and his wife Vic, Darrell Bosse and his wife Mary Ann of St. Agatha, Bertrand Bosse and his wife Rina of Frenchville, Leo James Bosse and his wife Rina, Danny Bosse and his wife Mae Rita of Madawaska, Berthier Bosse and his wife Rachael of Lebanon, CT; one sister, Alice Cyr of Madawaska; one sister-in-law, Irma Bosse of St. Agatha; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Fernand was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Ronald and by two sisters, Doris and Theresa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, January 2, 2013 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-9pm on Wednesday and from 9:30am until 10:45am on Thursday. Interment will take place later in the spring.
