Fort Kent and Agawam, MA--- Fernande Y. Cyr, 93, peacefully entered into rest February 18, 2024. She was born June 8, 1930, in Fort Kent, a daughter of the late Louis and Yvonne (Caouette) Cyr.  After being raised in Fort Kent, she graduated from St. Agatha schools. She attended University of Maine – Fort Kent and graduated from University of Maine- Farmington, with her bachelor's in teaching. She relocated to Agawam, MA, where she was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years and retired while teaching middle school. Following her retirement, Fernande relocated to her beloved hometown of Fort Kent where she was able to reconnect with many of her childhood friends and her loving family. Fernande was a long-time member of the Columbiettes and she was a devout parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church, and supported the parish in any way she could. A practiced pianist and organist and soloist, she cherished supporting her parish during many masses and funerals over the years.  She is survived by three siblings, Muriel Labbe and her husband Ellery, Fr. Philip Cyr, and Fr. Joel Cyr, all of Fort Kent; and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Fernande was predeceased by seven siblings, Normand Cyr, Rosaire Cyr, Chanel Cyr, Fernand Cyr, Michelle Haschak, Yolande Curry, and Gilberte Cyr.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St. Fort Kent. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
