IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fernande
Cyr
March 28, 1928 – September 23, 2020
Madawaska---Fernande (Lachance) Cyr, 92, passed away on September 23, 2020 at her home at Ridgewood Estates. She was born in Grand Isle on March 28, 1928, daughter of the late Alfred and Annie (Beaulieu) Lachance. Fern married Romeo D. Cyr on January 7, 1947, who preceded her in death in 1984. She enjoyed spending her days working on puzzles, camping in Old Orchard Beach, and knitting bas liens (socks) and mittens. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed her time spent at Carter's Bowling Alley. She loved volunteering her time helping with church meals after funerals and loved meeting with her fellow Dame de Ste-Anne. Fern was a devoted grandmother, and was so proud of her twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, such as going dancing in Canada with her friends, going to the Music in the Park, and meeting her favorite people for a soda. Her spunky personality and way of living life will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her. Fern is survived by two daughters, Gert Dufour and her husband Lloyd, Diane Hebert and her husband John all of Madawaska; five grandchildren, Scott and Jason Dufour, Donna Leonard, Vanesa Gagnon, and Brian Hebert; twelve great grandchildren, Laurisa, Nathan, Noah, Tyler, Dylan, Lance, Brady, Carter, Aiden, Owen, Madden, and Weston; one great-great grandchild, Wyatt; one sister, Theresa Cote and her husband Ray; one special sister-in-law, Kathleen Lachance; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Leonard and her husband Philip "Babe", one grandchild, Karen (Leonard) Bourgoin; one long time friend, Don Sirois; many other loved siblings. In light of the current situation with Covid-19, the family has chosen to celebrate a Memorial Mass and celebration of Fern's life at an indefinite point in the future when its safe for family and friends to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Ridgewood Estates Activity Department, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
