Madawaska---At the age of 96, Fernande Martin Michaud Dube passed away on February 16, 2025.  She was born in Keegan on February 20, 1928, daughter of the late Gilbert and Rose (Ouellette) Martin.  She graduated from Madawaska High School in 1946.  She worked at Sears Roebuck and Robert's Jewelry.  Fernande married her first husband, in June of 1947.  She was a substitute teacher for ten years.  Being a tour guide for twenty years, Fernande did a lot of traveling allowing her to visit all the shrines in Canada.  Being a seamstress, allowed her to make many beautiful quilts, afghan's, dish cloths, and pichou's for her family.  She also enjoyed baking and cooking and often made chocolate balls and fudge for the entire family during the holiday season.  She volunteered many hours at church, where she met her second husband.  She is survived by her three children, Bernette Picard and her husband Leo James of Severn, MD, Roland Michaud, Jr. "Ti Rol" of Madawaska, Brenda Bellatoni and her partner James Taylor of Alexandria, VA; one daughter-in-law, Marcelle Michaud of Madawaska; twelve grandchildren, Suzie, Jennie, Jeffrey, Steve, Melissa, Kerri, Tricia, Tiffany, Kris, Lydia, Miranda, and Dominic; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her two husbands, Roland Michaud and Claude Dube; one son, Bernard Michaud.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the St. David Church.  Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 8:30am until 9:30am on Friday before the Mass.
