Grand Isle---Florence M. Dumais, 100, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 16, 2024, at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in Van Buren on February 15, 1924, daughter of the late Edmund and Alice (Bard) Bouchard.  A woman of faith, Florence was a lifetime communicant of St. Gerard Church.  She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Grand Isle.  She spent much of her time praying for family and friends.  In her younger years, she enjoyed making blankets for everyone.  She was a very reserved lady, but enjoyed spending time with family, especially when her sisters came to visit.  She is survived by one sister, Joan Dumais of Oxford, FL; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Valier Dumais; eight sisters, Evelyn, Elmire, Anita, Annette, Gladys, Rose, Theresa, and Phyllis; one brother, Nelson.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle.  Interment will be held immediately after the Mass at the Parish cemetery.
