Portage---Frances "Fran" (Burby) Condon passed away September 30, 2022 at the age of 74, due to complications from Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). She was born May 6,1948, the daughter of Ellery and Alicia (Colbath) Burby. She was raised in Ashland and graduated from Ashland Community High School, Class of 1966.

Being called Dear, Mom, Grammie, and Meemaw brought Fran such joy. She loved nothing more than an overly decorated holiday celebrated with her family. Her grandchildren fondly remember every sleepover, birthday party, holiday (especially Christmas Eve), and any other reason she created to get hugs and see them all. Fran was the glue that held the family together and they will never forget everything she did for them. She was extremely proud of her 30 plus year career at Scott Appraisal in Washburn. She and her husband Ted traveled all over making memories and friends, Aruba being one of their favorite destinations. She could often be found at the casino playing slot machines. Fran spent countless hours crafting and baking. Her handmade items and delicious treats were enjoyed by all lucky enough to receive them. Her quilts will continue to be shared with generations to come. In her "spare" time she started the business North Country Jams Jellies & More. Fran's famous hot pepper jelly will be especially missed by so many. She was a hard worker, full of fire, gave more to others than she ever took, and loved with all she had to the very end the family she and Ted created.

Fran is survived by her husband of 55 years Chester "Ted" Condon; their children Shelly & Greg Gillis, Chet & Shelli Condon, and Troy Condon & Nicole Fournier; brothers Larry(Sue), Perley(Gayle), Donnie(Christine), Roger, & Doug(Clara);  sisters Althea Mowerson, Susan(Fred) Smart, Bonnie(Ron) Chapuis, & Julie(Ronnie) Belanger; grandchildren Cody Levesque, Tyler(Anna) Levesque, Lacy Condon, Clark Condon, Caiden Condon, Rachel Gillis, Alex Gillis, Brett (Chelsea) Stratton & Hannah (Aiden) Heikkinen; great grandchildren Ellie & Milo Levesque; her brothers-in-laws, sister-in-laws; and her many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Shelby Condon, her brothers Floyd, Norman & Robbie, and her infant sister Donna.

The family wishes to thank Nicole, our home health nurse, for loving and caring for Fran the same way we all did. They also appreciate all the family that helped with Fran's care.

Services will be held graveside at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery, Rte. 11/Aroostook Road, Portage Lake, with Pastor Sam Morton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Frances Condon to ALS Association, Northern New England, PO Box 207, Concord, NH 03301. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland.
