St. Pierre
October 13, 1937 – August 31, 2020
Caswell--- Frederick P. St. Pierre, 82, passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 31, 2020, with his family at his side. He was born in Caswell on October 13, 1937, a son of the late Roy and Laurie Anne (Cote) St. Pierre.
Fred worked his family farm over 45 years, and later worked several years as a log truck operator. All the while working the family farm, he worked over 36 years at Loring Air Force Base during the winter as a mechanic and several years at Lane Construction.
Fred spent 15 years as the Town of Caswell's First Selectman. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Hamlin, and, as a dedicated brother of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1635, Van Buren, he proudly served many years as the Third Degree's Grand Knight, Fourth Degree Assembly's Faithful Navigator, State District Deputy, and served many other posts,. Fred, with his brother Clayton, was also one of the founding members of Pleasant Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club in 1997 and continued to operate the organization and trail maintenance well over 20 years.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 64 years, Jeanne (Jambard) St. Pierre of Caswell; four children, Karen Stackhouse and her husband Ken, Wayne St. Pierre and his wife Lisa, Scott St. Pierre and his wife Vicky, and Mark St. Pierre and his wife Susan, all of Caswell; four siblings, Dennis St. Pierre and his wife Joy of Bucksport, Steve St. Pierre and his wife Carolyn, David St. Pierre and his wife Virginia, both of Florida, and Theresa Conroy of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Becky St. Pierre; seven grandchildren, Tabatha, Joshua, Jessica, Jacinda, Chelsey, Emily, and Bailey; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by two grandchildren, Shelby Jean and Scottie, a brother, Clayton St. Pierre, and a brother in law, Don Conroy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated privately at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Burial was in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation in Fred's name may be made to a cause very dear to his heart: Knights of Columbus Parish Needs/St. Joseph Church, 284 Main St., Van Buren, ME 04785. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
