Ashland--- Gary M. Burby, 70, peacefully entered into rest Saturday, December 3, 2022, following a period of declining health. Born November 22, 1952, he was a son of the late Fred and Cecilia (Lovejoy) Burby and raised in Ashland.

Gary worked for Irving Woodlands for several years, and Rafford Construction, before relocating to Pinkham Mill, working over 21 years before his retirement. He loved fishing and hunting all over Aroostook County, but his favorite pastime was his many camping trips up to Deboullie Public Lands. Gary enjoyed visiting with his close friends and neighbors, watching old western movies, and playing cards late into the evenings.

He is survived by two daughters, Erica Jordan and Erin Burby; a sister, Sara Hunt; four grandsons; his friends and neighbors, Danielle, Eric and family, Herbie and Roy, who treated and thought of Gary as family, and for which we are forever grateful; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by siblings, Johnny Burby, Wayne Burby, Richard Burby, Ruth Ann Whipple, Bertha Archer, toddler Shirley Burby and several infant siblings.
