Van Buren--- Gary S. Ouellette, 61, passed away peacefully Monday, September 7, 2020. He was born January 10, 1959 in Van Buren, a son of Irma (Lagasse) Ouellette and the late Dolland Ouellette, and was a 1978 graduate of Van Buren District Secondary School.

Gary last worked on prefabricated homes at Aroostook Trusses in Presque Isle for several years. He also worked many years in the maintenance department at Borderview Rehab in Van Buren. He was a hard worker and always held down multiple jobs and was deeply proud to be able to always provide for his family. He loved working with wood and would busy his hands with carving, making birdhouses, and various other small wood crafts. His attention to detail was paramount. Gary liked to go fishing, especially exploring the local brooks and lakes. He was exceptionally proud of his two beautiful daughters and was looking forward to meeting his first granddaughter.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 34 years, Linda (Berube) Ouellette of Van Buren; his mother of Van Buren; two daughters, Chelsea Ouellette-Hathaway of Presque Isle, and Marissa Bartlett and her husband Andrew of Nobleboro; five siblings, Bob Ouellette and his wife Marie, Dianne Madore and her husband Lorne, all of Van Buren, Roland Ouellette and his wife Rhonda of Alaska, Mike Ouellette and wife Kathy of Iowa, and John Ouellette and his wife Marlene of St. David; one granddaughter, Charlie Annmarie Bartlett; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated privately by his family at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Burial was in Grand River Cemetery. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
